Project of the Quarter - Sellar, Hazard, McNeely & Manning

Sellar, Hazard, McNeely & Manning, a Concord, CA law firm chose Maxon furniture for (12) new workstations. The Account Manager from MB Contract Furniture is Suzanne Muller and the subcontractor on this job was Office Installers Unlimited of Hayward, CA.

According to Jim Ficenec of Sellar, Hazard "It took one day to do the install, there was a small punch list which was taken care of immediately and everyone loves them."

What they love about these workstations is that they have more room. Law firms have a lot of files and the support staff often times needs to have more workspace. Mary Louise Barth, who had to given up her office and was at first skeptical, says, "It has plenty of room to spread out when I have to do projects for the attorneys I just love it now."

You can view more photographs of this and other "projects of the quarter" at our website's Client Spotlight Pages

Employee of the Quarter - Eddie Aguallo

Eddie Aguallo (A-Y-O) came to us a year ago as an installer experienced in SteelCase, Herman Miller and a variety of other furniture lines. Eddie has done an outstanding job for everyone and we congratulate him for being honored as Employee of the Quarter.

Eddie was born in San Francisco, attended Riodan High School, excelled at baseball and was part of the 1988 Major League Draft. From 1988 until 1991 Eddie played in the Roberto Clemente Semi-Pro league in San Francisco. Eddie lives in Antioch with his wife Rosalyn, his daughter Gabriel and his son Jordan. Also hanging around in the household is the family pet, Gunner the Dog. We're very happy to have Eddie on board here at MB.

Product of the Quarter - HÅG Conventio Wing

The result is an improvement in your mood! Comfort isn't just about how your chair lets you sit - it's also about how your chair lets you move. Sitting without sitting still is at the heart of HÅG's award-winning ergonomic seating. You'd almost think they invented human-centered design.

We couldn't sit still when we were kids and we shouldn't sit still as adults. It's better for our bodies to keep moving. But when conferences and meetings fill our schedules, sitting can be difficult to avoid. Luckily, HÅG Conventio Wing is designed to help you move more regularly and naturally in your seat. It is also designed for heavy use, so it couldn't be better suited for all those "sit still" places - schools, universities, libraries, cafes, meeting rooms, and conference halls.

Please take a look at our HÅG Conventio Wing product page for pricing and ordering information. Remember, you are always welcome to contact us anytime with any questions you may have.

Recipe of the Quarter - Kourabiedes

Kourabiedes (pronounced "kou-ra-bi-ETH-es") - Greek Cookies
    • 1 lb sweet butter
    • 5 heaping tablespoons powder sugar
    • 5 cups flour
    • 1 cup whiskey
    • Walnuts cut in half
    • Cloves
    • Extra powder sugar

Mix all ingredients except buts, cloves & "extra" powder sugar. Round dough into ball (half size of a golf ball) and put a half walnut in center. Put on cookie sheet and flatten the ball slightly. Put clove in middle of cookie. Make sure stem is inserted so only the top of the clove is showing. Bake 25 minutes at 350. Once cookie has cooled, sift powder sugar on top to cover cookie but make sure clove is showing so people don't bite into clove.
